Clinic Relocates to 3m Facility
Glasgow Memory Clinic, founded ten years
ago by Consultant Physician Dr Fraser Inglis
FRCP, has relocated to a new £3m facility
within the West of Scotland Science Park in
Glasgow.
Despite the current credit crunch and global
recession, the clinic, which is engaged in
international research in the field of Alzheimer's
disease and memory impairment research, has
relocated to The Altum Building, a beautiful
eco-friendly building completed on time by
innovative developer Speyroc Ltd.
The building, heated by ground heat pumps
and a sophisticated underfloor heating system,
utilises state of the art technology to minimise
the carbon footprint in this age of global
warming. The Altum Building has achieved an
A rating energy performance certificate which
the Director of Speyroc Ltd, Alexander Haig, is
very proud of.
"We are delighted with the new facility,"
says Dr Inglis. Dr Inglis started Alzheimer's
research work when working as a lecturer in
Scotland's first memory clinic in Dundee in
1993. "The new Glasgow Memory Clinic is an
excellent environment for staff and those who
participate in our research programmes."
Uniquely in Scotland, the clinic has been
engaged in research of all of the currently
licensed treatments for Alzheimer's disease: "It
has been interesting to see the development of
the current treatments that we have available.

were no treatments that we could prescribe
We are now working on a new generation of treatments and look forward to continuing to contribute to international medical research in this field of medicine.
